While traditionally Nairobi night life is always a buzz, and is said to be amongst the most active and engaging in Africa, nothing quite comes close to the fanatic following Earthdance commands, and by extension house music in Nairobi. It is not more the numbers, but the fanatic support from those few who embrace it.
This past weekend, we were involved in what was the 5th edition of Earthdance in Nairobi, as the main AV suppliers.
Organized by 6AM Entertainment, Earthdance is a global charity dance who distributes half of their net profits to charitable causes. This year, the main focus was #HandsOffOurElephants – a campaign to stop the poaching of Elephants to ensure the future generations of these magnificent animals is secure. It was great to see event attendees embracing this campaign in what was a show of solidarity and support. This was further testament that the events industry can impact social welfare in great ways.
The event was colorful and exciting, exhibiting a bit of an African theme. Check out some of the themes that made it cool:
As part of our mandate, as AV partners, we supplied LED screens that were used to power and bring alive the event. Here are some of the cool things we used to light up the stage and DJ booth:
As Nairobi flocked into the venue to party the night away, we labored through to ensure that the LED screens were up to scratch and that we maintained the event theme throughout. Here’s a cameo of one of the team members at work:
Given the scale and magnitude of the event, we are glad to have been an integral part of it, we continue to diversify with the notion that whatever industry – our products and services can match their delivery and experience required.
We also want to thank 6AM Entertainment for giving us the opportunity and trusting us to deliver one of their biggest events. Partnership is trust.
